Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How does Diamon-Fusion® work?

A. Diamon-Fusion® molecularly fuses with glass to form a hydrophobic barrier. It creates a new chemical bond that enhances visibility in bad weather and strengthens glass weight load by up to ten times. As a result, water beads up and rolls away, and small road debris ricochets off.

When we think of glass, we think of a surface that’s perfectly smooth, even slick. But in reality, the surface of glass is rough and ridged, with microscopic peaks and craters. Not only does water “stick” to this irregular plane, but debris also smacks against it with significant friction, and can inflict serious damage.

More than just a coating that can peel and blister over time, Diamon-Fusion® molecularly fuses with glass to form a hydrophobic barrier. It creates a new chemical bond that enhances visibility in bad weather and strengthens glass weight load by up to ten times. As a result, water beads up and rolls away, and small road debris ricochets off.

Q. Why would I want to use Diamon-Fusion®?

A. Diamon-Fusion® improves driver reaction time by keeping windshields and glass surfaces clearer. It improves visibility during inclement weather, and reduces the likelihood of damage from small road debris. Diamon-Fusion® also allows insects to be easily washed away, and makes ice and snow much easier to remove. It protects against acid rain, corrosion and mineral buildup, and is resistant to UV rays. It preserves the beauty and luster of glass surfaces.

Benefits of Diamon-Fusion®

Q. How is the process applied?

A. The process is called "chemical vapor deposition". The surface to be fused goes through a cleaning process and is then coated with a liquid catalyst (in cases of high humidity, no catalyst is necessary). A specially designed machine pumps out a "fog-like" vapor containing the special chemicals needed to make the molecular change. The process happens in a split-second and the glass is immediately usable. All chemicals become inert within seconds of neutralization.

Q. On what surfaces does the Diamon-Fusion® process work?

A. Any silica based surface, which includes all of the glass on your car or boat (but not on the reflective side of reflective glass).

Q. Is Diamon-Fusion® different from other glass treatment products?

A. Yes! Award-winning Diamon-Fusion® technology is patented and available in more than 30 countries around the world. More than just a coating that can peel and blister over time, Diamon-Fusion® has created a chemical bond to enhance visibility in bad weather and strengthen glass weight load by up to ten times.

Q. Is there documented proof that Diamon-Fusion® works?

A. Yes! Dr. William C. LaCourse, Professor of Glass Science at the Institute for Glass Science and Engineering at Alfred University, has conducted tests at an independent testing laboratory. Dr. LaCourse is an expert in the study of glass and ceramics. He has done testing for major companies like PPG and Kohler. Read a summary of the most important findings here.

Q. Will I still need to clean my glass?

A. Yes, you will. The process REDUCES cleaning time; it does not eliminate it.

Q. Will Diamon-Fusion® discolor or peel over time?

A. No it won’t discolor or peel, and it remains stable under UV Rays.

Q. Will it harm my High Performance or Insulated Glass?
What about the surrounding frames?

A. No; Diamon-Fusion® is designed for any silica based surface, which includes all of the glass on your vehicle (but not on the reflective side of reflective glass). It is applied only by trained, certified technicians.
